Our clinic Dental Orthodontics is a health institution, providing specialized dental services, in a personalized manner with the highest standards of human, scientific and technological quality, in order to give our patients the best experience, and guaranteeing the best, long lasting results

Our Services

Dental Orthodontics' services include two of the most important specialties in modern dentistry: Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Surgery, combined to achieve excellent results that will benefit our patients for the rest of their lives.

Modern dentistry, with the constant evolution of science and technological advances, makes it mandatory to widen our knowledge in areas related to our profession, which is part and complement of all of them.

With this in mind, our professionals offer a wide variety of services, which include:

Orthodontics for Adults and Children

Orthodontics is an important odontological specialty, intended to correct different problems related to teeth position. To achieve this goal, orthodontists use braces to apply forces to the teeth and their support tissues. These forces make teeth move and rotate until they are aligned in their correct positions.

By interacting with other specialties, such as Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Rehabilitation and Dental Cosmetics, among others, orthodontics helps to improve and correct disalignments in teeth, maxillaries and facial region, enhancing facial harmony and improving functionality.

Handling of alterations in facial growth

Integration of Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Surgery allows to get an exact diagnosis  of the kind of facial alteration a patient can have. This makes clear that not all cases can be solved by means of pure orthodontics (braces and wires), but they must be treated combining maxillary surgical techniques.

Early diagnosis of dental alterations

A frequent question many parents ask is "when should I take my child to the dentist?". Answer is very simple: When they are three years old, or when their temporary dentition is completely developed. Once in this stage, it is possible to determine if there is any alteration in number, position or shape of teeth and/or their maxillary bones.

Corrective surgery to treat growth anomalies

Once an adequate diagnosis has been made on a maxillary bone growth anomaly, the specialist determines the requirements for its correct handling. Among many others, there are two maxillary growth anomalies that show most frequently:

Excess of lower jaw growth (prognathism): this kind of alteration require orthodontical decompensation treatment, and afterwards, surgery to draw jaw back. This improves jaw position and allows an excellent dental and maxillary balance, contributing to a cosmetic improvement.

Lower jaw deficiency: This condition also requires orthodontical treatment and surgery to be corrected.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Formerly, dental restoration was oriented to recover masticatory function, but aesthetics were not important. Modern dentistry integrates functionality and cosmetics in a whole concept, thus enhancing beauty. In order to get  harmonic reults, treatment must include specialties such as orthodontics (to align teeth and close spaces, etc.), rehabilitation (high quality crowns), oral sugery and operatory.

All these elements can help to achieve a dramatic recovery of funcionality and enhancement of facial harmony.

Oral and Maxillofacial Implantology

Losing one or more teeth has always been motive of concern, not only because of functional and cosmetic alterations, but because the concern of how these pieces have to be replaced.

Development of implantology has improved this situation. Implantology is a technique that allows to put a screw-shaped device in the bone, and by means of a biological scarring, this device will assume the function of tooth root. Afterwards, this element will allow to put a dental crown which will restore masticatory function and cosmetics.

Facial prosthesis

Sometimes, due to an accident, a birth deformity or due to a cancerous lesion,  a patient can lose a part of his/her face (ear pavillion, nose, eye, ocular orbit), or severe sequels are left. In these cases it is possible to perform facial rehabilitation by means of design, molding ans anchoring of a prosthesis, which will replace the lost organ.

External breast prosthesis (for handling of mastectomy and breast cancer sequels)

These prostheses are part of the somato-prosthesis, which replace a part of the patient's body. In this specific case, these prostheses replace the breast tissue lost due to breast cancer lesions, and its function is to replace the lost breast. Use of this kind of prosthesis helps to achieve physical, mental and social rehabilitation for women who have endured breast cancer and all its consequences. Prosthesis can be a temporary relief, before undergoing a surgical reconstruction.
