Ophthalmology
This branch of medicine is dedicated to treat all clinical and surgical conditions that affect the eyes, lacrimal ducts and eye orbits (oseum cavities where eyes are contained).
Most frequent surgical procedures in my medical practice are:
LASIK (Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis)
It is a fast, safe and effective treatment that corrects myopia, hypermetropia, astigmatism and presbyopia by means of a laser beam, reducing the need of wearing glasses and contact lenses.
Elegible patients for LASIK surgery
- Patients over 20 years old with stable prescriptions for glasses or contact lenses for a minimum of two years.
- Patients with needed corneal thickness.
- Patients must have understood what this procedure is and cleared all questions with the ophthalmologist.
|
Not eligible patients for LASIK surgery
- Patients with too thin cornea
- Patients with severe eye lubrication problems
- Patients with only one eye
- Patients with retinal diseases or glaucoma
- Pregnant and nursing women.
- Patients with cataracts.
- Patients not elegible due to medical or professional reasons.
